Coquitlam has no shortage of things to do. From parks and outdoor activities to enjoy to cafes and restaurants to try out, the sixth largest city in B.C. is a community rich with endless options for new experiences.
Vancouver chiropractor Dr. Jarrod Johnson is the owner of the newly-opened painPRO Coquitlam Centre clinic, which is a trusted provider of chiropractic care, acupuncture, physio and massage therapy in Coquitlam.
We asked Dr. Johnson to share a few of his favourite things about the community where he now practices.
The avid outdoor enthusiast takes advantage of the abundance of nature in Coquitlam during his spare time from his chiropractic massage therapy and physiotherapy practice.
From taking hikes in Minnekhada and Pinecone Burke Provincial Park, to biking and walking his dog on the trails along the Coquitlam River, Dr. Johnson appreciates how opportunities for recreation and simply getting fresh air are just right outside one’s doorstep.
“My favourite park in Coquitlam would have to be Glen Park, with the forest trails, dog park, and outdoor activities like volleyball and badminton nets,” Dr. Johnson says.
When with his family in Coquitlam, Dr. Johnson likes to take them on walks and hikes to Crystal Falls, a popular out-and-back trail to a scenic waterfall. “We also love to go to the driving range at the Westwood Plateau golf course,” he adds.
For lunch, Johnson has a number of go-to favourites, such as Xpress Donair House on High Street and Pho 99 Vietnamese Noodle Place on North Road, that reflect the range of diverse cuisine offered in Coquitlam.
“My favourite coffee place is JJ Bean, which is only a 5 minute walk away from the clinic,” shares Dr. Johnson. “They also have the best baked goods and breakfast wraps.”
