Chiropractic Care

"Chiropractors are primary healthcare professionals who focus on the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of musculoskeletal disorders and their effects on the nervous system and overall health. There is an emphasis on manual treatments including spinal and joint adjustment along with soft-tissue techniques."

What is Chiropractic Care?

Chiropractic care is a patient-centered, non-invasive, hands-on, regulated health care profession focused on your spine, muscles, and nervous system. Chiropractors use a combination of treatments, all of which are predicated on the specific needs of the individual patient.

Why Use a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC)?

Doctors of Chiropractic (DCs) at painPRO guide clinical decision-making using an evidence-informed approach that integrates their clinical expertise, patient preferences, and scientific evidence. Chiropractic Care FAQ

Chiropractic care is used to treat all musculoskeletal conditions, including:

  • Back, neck, shoulder, hip, knee and ankle pain
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Joint stiffness or limited mobility
  • Sports injuries and postural issues
  • Pain following motor vehicle accidents (ICBC claims)

At painPRO, our chiropractors use evidence-based techniques to restore movement, reduce pain, and improve overall function. While both chiropractors and physiotherapists assess posture, muscle function, and soft tissue similarly, chiropractors receive advanced training in joint manipulation, which allows them to address joint-specific restrictions safely and effectively.

Yes. Chiropractic adjustments are generally safe when performed by a licensed chiropractor. At painPRO, our practitioners carefully assess your condition and tailor treatments to your individual needs to ensure both safety and effectiveness. Adjustments are just one of the many techniques chiropractors use, if you feel hesitant about adjustments, other manual therapies and soft tissue approaches can also be used to effectively treat your injury, aches, or pain.

Most patients feel minimal discomfort during adjustments and typically report significant relief. You may experience a gentle pressure or a popping sensation, which is normal and indicates movement of oxygen within the joint. Adjustments are customized to your comfort level.

Initial assessments are typically 30 minutes and include a review of your medical history, physical assessment, manual therapy and a treatment plan. Follow-up visits are usually 15 minutes when addressing 1-2 areas but can be 30 minutes in length when addressing more areas or more complex areas. Ask your chiropractor what length of treatment may better suit your needs and they will help guide you.

The number of treatments varies depending on your condition, symptoms, and recovery goals. Your chiropractor will provide an individualized treatment plan after your initial assessment, including an estimated frequency and number of sessions. Our goal is to always support your recovery in the shortest amount of time with long lasting results.
