"Massage Therapy is an evidence-informed, natural, non-invasive intervention for pain and dysfunction present in the body's soft tissue and joints."
What is Registered Massage Therapy (RMT)?
The profession of Registered Massage Therapy (RMT) has evolved to become a primary health care modality in many Canadian Provinces. The RMT profession in BC is regulated by the College of Health Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC). This central governing body works with the Provincial Government, under the Health Professions Act, to provide regulatory standards that ensure public safety and a consistent educational framework for the profession. These standards are designed to ensure that all Registered Massage Therapists meet the competencies required to provide safe, effective and evidence-informed patient care.
Why Use a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT)?
Health care professionals with the designation as a Registered Massage Therapist or RMT have completed a minimum of 2200 hours of college level education. The basis of the educational curriculum is centered around evidence-informed solutions to soft tissue and joint concerns. In addition to achieving minimum passing grades all registrants have successfully passed rigorous Provincial exams based on academic knowledge and practical hands-on skills.
How are painPRO RMT's Different?
At painPRO we are committed to the professional growth of all our Registered Massage Therapists and allocate significant resources to ensuring they have the highest professional standards in the industry.
Advanced Care
The healthcare profession of Registered Massage Therapy is far more comprehensive than typical bodywork or relaxation massage. A common misconception is that Massage Therapy is purely a feel-good stress relief treatment. While Registered Massage Therapists can certainly play an important role in managing stress and promoting relaxation, this represents only a small portion of the care they provide. RMTs are extensively trained to assess and treat a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, injuries, and movement dysfunctions, helping patients reduce pain, restore function, and improve overall physical health.
Why Choose painPRO for Registered Massage Therapy?
Patient Centered
All RMT's working with painPRO are independent contractors and have been contracted based on their patient centered focus. In our eyes no amount of education can take the place of a Massage Therapist who values who you are and looks out for your best interests.
RMT Development Program
We provide all our RMTs with complimentary access to company-sponsored education. We develop education courses focused on evidence-informed assessment and treatment approaches for soft tissue and joint dysfunction. These sessions are designed to support clinical excellence, encourage collaboration, and help practitioners continue to grow their skills and confidence throughout their careers.
Team Focused
Our RMTs work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals at painPRO to coordinate treatment plans and take a comprehensive approach to care. This ensures that all aspects of a patient's recovery are addressed, resulting in improved outcomes, enhanced patient experiences, and often a faster return to the activities that matter most.
