Ellen is a registered physical therapist and PhD candidate at the University of British Columbia who works with people living with arthritis, chronic conditions, and movement challenges. She brings together clinical expertise, research, and a passion for advocacy to help clients move with confidence.
She holds a Master of Physical Therapy and a Master of Science in Kinesiology, with research focused on supporting adults with chronic conditions and mobility limitations. Her current work centers on promoting physical activity for people living with osteoarthritis and inflammatory arthritis—ensuring care is grounded in the latest evidence and tailored to real-life needs.
In addition to her clinical practice, Ellen co-teaches Rheumatology in UBC’s Department of Physical Therapy and contributes to the development of international osteoarthritis guidelines, helping translate research into practical care.
Ellen is certified in BoneFit™ and GLA:D® Arthritis and has over six years of experience teaching yoga and fitness. She has also completed Pelvic Floor Level 1 and Level 2 training, allowing her to take a whole-body approach to movement and rehabilitation.
Beyond the clinic, she serves as Programs Coordinator at Arthritis Consumer Experts and as a Board member of the Sjögren’s Society of Canada, advocating for accessible, patient-centred care.
Ellen strong believer in functional movement, Ellen practices what she teaches—whether at the gym, running along the seawall, or hiking on the weekends.
