Bio

Dr. McDougall first practiced in San Francisco, then spent 15 years in Florence, Italy, before settling down with his family in Vancouver. He has completed extensive post-graduate education including Active Release Techniques (ART), Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) Exercise 1 for Weightlifting, Functional Movement Systems’ FMS and SFMA levels 1 and 2, One-To-Zero (OTZ) Frozen Shoulder Technique, Kinesio Taping, the International Chiropractic Sports Sciences Diploma (ICSSD) and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Dr. McDougall and painPRO Physiotherapist Chris Tierney, are the sole providers of RSQ1 in Western Canada and both find it to be a very effective treatment for many conditions. – RSQ1 [https://www.rsq1.nl/what-is-rsq1/].

He has had the pleasure of treating athletes and dancers of all ages including Athletics competitors from the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, the Italian National Rowing Team at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, and Vancouver’s own Ballet BC and Arts Umbrella dancers.

Dr. McDougall joins our rehabilitation team at painPRO City Square and Coal Harbour with over 20 years experience.

During his spare time, Dr. McDougall enjoys cycling, learning all he can about performance care, strength & conditioning, and dance medicine. He was a past board member of the Contemporary Art Gallery and currently is the Secretary on the Eastside Arts Society Board of Directors. Coaching high school basketball and watching his sons play sports, is also a passion.
