“Physiotherapy is a healthcare profession dedicated to working with people to identify and maximize their ability to move and function throughout their lifespan”
What is Physiotherapy?
The profession of Physiotherapy, also known as Physical Therapy, has evolved to become a primary health care modality in Canada. The Physiotherapy profession in BC is regulated by the College of Physical Therapists of BC (CPTBC).
The Physiotherapy profession involves multiple interventions for the treatment and prevention of physical dysfunction. This includes manual therapy techniques, electrotherapeutic and mechanical agents, and active rehabilitation.

Why Use a Physiotherapist (PT)?
Health care professionals with the designation as a Registered Physiotherapist have completed a Masters Degree from an accredited Canadian University. The basis of the educational curriculum is centered on evidence informed solutions to soft tissue and joint problems. In addition to having minimum passing grades all registrants have successfully passed the rigorous National Physiotherapy Competency Examination (PCE).
The importance to you is the assurance that any health care professional with the PT designation has the proven ability to provide safe and effective health care for your physical health.
How are painPRO Physiotherapists Different?
At painPRO we are committed to the professional growth of all our physiotherapists and allocate significant resources to ensuring they have the highest professional standards in the industry. Here are a few of the things we do to ensure you get the best treatment possible:
Patient Centered
All PT’s working with painPRO are independent contractors and have been contracted based on their patient centered focus. In our eyes no amount of education can take the place of a Physiotherapist who values who you are and looks out for your best interests.
Manual Therapists
Our view is that great patient care is correlated with the amount of professional attention you get. This is why we ensure that all PT’s working with us do one on one manual therapy. In other words you won’t be hooked up to any machine and left alone, you won’t be left alone to do your exercises, and you won’t be left alone with a heat pack. In fact we only allow one electrotherapeutic intervention due to the significant research behind it…Shockwave Therapy.
Team Focused
Our PT’s work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals at painPRO in order to improve recovery time for patients with soft tissue injury and dysfunction.
