“Registered Clinical Counselling is a healthcare profession dedicated to helping people identify and maximize their ability to understand how their patterns of thinking impact mental/ emotional health, stress, and physical pain”
What is Registered Clinical Counselling?
The profession of Registered Clinical Counselling, also known as Counselling or Psychotherapy, has evolved to become a primary healthcare modality in Canada. The Counselling profession in BC is regulated by the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors. (BCACC)
The Counselling profession involves multiple interventions for the treatment and prevention of emotional/ mental unrest and how physical pain is perceived.
Counselling is about finding solutions for mental/ emotional unrest that may be standing in the way of your long-term life enjoyment and/ or physical pain relief. The important thing to understand about Counselling is that you are in control of the process. A Counsellor is merely a guide to help you ask questions that lead to solutions for your full recovery from an accident or other traumatic life events.
Based on your level of comfort our Counsellors offer both Telehealth and In-Clinic options. Understanding your unique needs a Counsellor can help you determine the best format for service delivery.
Why Use a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC)?
Health care professionals with the designation Registered Clinical Counsellor have completed a Masters Degree from an accredited Canadian University. The basis of the educational curriculum is centered on evidence-informed solutions to mental/ emotional unrest that negatively impacts an individual’s life. In addition to having minimum passing grades in the areas of psychology and social work, all registrants have successfully passed the rigorous Canadian Professional Counsellors Association (CPCA) exam.
The importance to you is the assurance that any healthcare professional with the RCC designation has the proven ability to provide safe and effective health care for your mental/ emotional health.
How are painPRO Registered Clinical Counsellors Different?
At painPRO we are committed to the professional growth of all our Registered Clinical Counsellors and allocate significant resources to ensuring they have the highest professional standards in the industry. Here are a few of the things we do to ensure you get the best experience possible:
Patient Centered
All RCCs working with painPRO are independent contractors and have been contracted based on their patient centered focus. In our eyes, no amount of education can take the place of a Counsellor who creates a safe space and values who you are by looking out for your best interests.
Empathetic Therapists
Our view is that great patient care is correlated with the amount of professional attention you get. This is why we ensure that all RCC’s working with us do one on one therapy sessions. The best part is you get to choose Telehealth on-line video sessions from the comfort of your own home or in-person sessions at one of our clinics.
Team Focused
Our RCCs work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals at painPRO in order to improve injury recovery time for patients with pain and mental/ emotional unrest.
