Shadrach Govender is a dedicated Occupational Therapist with a rich background in healthcare spanning over two decades. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from the esteemed University of Kwa-Zulu Natal, Faculty of Medicine and School of Rehabilitation Sciences in South Africa in 2006. His qualifications, recognized as equivalent to a Master’s Degree in Canada by IQAS, reflect his commitment to excellence in the field.
Shadrach’s journey in healthcare began at Nelson Mandela Academic Hospital in South Africa, where he honed his skills and expertise from 2007 to 2012. During his tenure, he navigated diverse medical, surgical, and pediatric conditions, progressively advancing from Junior Occupational Therapist to Senior Occupational Therapist, and finally to Chief Occupational Therapist in 2009. His leadership and clinical acumen significantly contributed to the hospital’s success for three years.
In 2012, driven by a quest for professional growth and new challenges, Shadrach immigrated to Canada. His transition led him to a prestigious private rehabilitation clinic in Alberta, where he provided comprehensive occupational therapy services to both private and government sectors. His repertoire included Community Occupational Therapy, Long Term Care, Hand Therapy Clinic, and Outpatient clinic services, alongside specialized assessments such as Functional Capacity Evaluations, Ergonomic assessments, Job Demand Analysis, Return to Work Programs, and Occupational Rehabilitation programs.
In 2015, Shadrach relocated to Vancouver, Canada, and established Shadrach Govender Medical Consulting Inc., marking a significant milestone in his entrepreneurial journey. Over the next six years, he collaborated with renowned private rehabilitation
clinics, including Re: Function Health Group, Lifemark, and Reactive Injury Management. His focus on Ergonomic Evaluations, Return to Work Support Services, Senior Wellness, and Community Occupational Therapy services catered to clients with
diverse neurological, physical, and mental health injuries and disorders.
In 2022, Shadrach expanded his vision by founding Burke Village Medical Consulting Clinic Inc., an endeavor aimed at enhancing senior wellness and clinical services across multiple clinics in Burnaby, Vancouver, Port Coquitlam, and Nanaimo. His strategic
partnerships span three health authorities, namely Fraser Health Region, Vancouver Coastal Health, and Vancouver Island Health Authority, reflecting his commitment to serving diverse communities with excellence and compassion. Shadrach continues to
exemplify professionalism, warmth, and unwavering dedication in his pursuit of enriching lives through healthcare.
