Joel grew up in a small town in Saskatchewan playing hockey, which led him to play competitive junior hockey in the states for three years, where he captained his team in his last year. Joel personally knows how demanding sports are on the body and how important maintenance and recovery are. He sustained concussions which ultimately led him to end his hockey career. During his rehab, he became more interested in recovery, injury prevention, and full-body health which then led him to pursue registered massage therapy as a career. Some hobbies he enjoys are playing hockey, resistance training, cycling, and reading non-fiction books. He is excited to start his career as an RMT and keep learning more about the body and how to help patients.
