IAN IS PART OF PAINPRO’S MASSAGE THERAPY PRECEPTORSHIP PROGRAM. THIS INDUSTRY-LEADING PROGRAM SELECTS TOP GRADUATES FROM MASSAGE THERAPY COLLEGES WAITING TO WRITE THEIR PROVINCIAL BOARD EXAMS AND PAIRS THEM WITH OUR EXISTING TEAM OF HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS. THE PURPOSE IS TO TEACH NEW GRADUATES REAL-WORLD SKILLS ON HOW TRUE COLLABORATIVE HEALTHCARE WORKS BY GIVING THEM AN UNDERSTANDING OF OTHER HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONS AND HOW WORKING TOGETHER CAN ENHANCE OPTIMAL PATIENT OUTCOMES.

As a recent graduate of Vancouver Career College’s Registered Massage Therapy program, Ian is awaiting registration in March and is excited to kick-start his career as a therapist.

Prior to his time at Vancouver Career College, Ian had been working in the healthcare field as a rehabilitation assistant in several different settings in the lower mainland, where he learned the importance of different types of therapy by directly assisting his colleagues who practiced in the areas of Physiotherapy, Occupational therapy, and Speech-language pathology. Ian is glad to be back in the rehabilitation/health sciences field to collaborate in his new role.

During his education in the RMT program, he learned about the different complexities of the human body and how every single patient would present differently. Ian is focused on making sure he is finding the most effective treatment plan for each individual, while continuously looking at things from a holistic approach.

Although each treatment is personalized, Ian incorporates various modalities such as trigger point therapy, myofascial release, joint mobilizations, active release, Swedish massage, and hydrotherapy; all the while centering the sessions on bringing awareness to the areas of the body that need it most.

Ian believes that educating his clients on how to be more cognizant of their bodies and habits is one of the most beneficial aspects to achieving better results. Whether it be soreness from sitting in front of a computer for too long, working out too hard, or just being stressed and needing to relax; Ian is committed to helping you get as much relaxation as possible from each session.
