Easy as 1-2-3
1. We connect you with a qualified Personal Injury Lawyer
The cornerstone of this program is to make sure you are effectively represented in your injury claim against the insurer. Having a qualified legal professional on your side ensures your claim will be properly advanced on your behalf and you have a greater chance of getting the injury settlement you deserve.
Your first meeting with the lawyer is free so they can assess the viability of your injury claim. Should the lawyer take your case and agree to represent you we are here to take the next step with you.
2. Documents are Signed
At this point, we submit a treatment plan to your lawyer with the estimated treatment costs for your full recovery. Your lawyer will have you sign a Direction to Pay authorizing them to direct the total costs of your treatment program, with applicable interest, to an account specified by us. Usually, injury settlements can take 2 or more years to complete.
On your first visit, our health care professionals will assess your condition and make recommendations for an injury specific treatment. If you haven’t already done so we may refer you to a Medical Doctor who understands the complexities of motor vehicle injuries as there may be underlying problems not clearly evident at the time of your appointment. It is important to understand that unaddressed soft tissue injuries can significantly reduce the quality of your life and create long-term financial hardship for you and your family.
3. Get Your Treatments
We try to get steps 1 and 2 out of the way as quickly as possible so you can start your treatments under the Recovery Support Program quickly. This usually takes 1-2 weeks.
Like most people your injuries will require immediate attention due to physical discomfort or dysfunction being experienced. During the initial few treatments we work with you outside of the Recovery Support Program and bill ICBC and your extended medical provider directly. To the extent that ICBC and your medical provider do not pay for the treatment, the Recovery Support Program will finance the cost up to our specified limit until your claim is resolved.
What happens if your injury claim is unsuccessful?
The best part of our Recovery Support Program is that you don’t have to pay for your treatments if your claim proceeds to trial and you lose. In other words, our Program offers you peace of mind that you have the funding to pay the cost of your treatment with no obligation to pay if your claim is unsuccessful.
